Put BuildPilot on your phone

Takes about 20 seconds. Do it once and you never open a browser again.

BuildPilot

  1. 1

    Make sure you're in Chrome

If you opened this from a text, Facebook or Gmail, it may be inside that app's own browser, which cannot install apps. Tap the ⋮ or ••• menu and choose "Open in Chrome" — or copy this page's link and paste it into the Chrome app.

  2. 2

Tap the menu (⋮) at the top-right of Chrome

Three dots in the top-right corner. This always works, even if the big button below never showed up.

  3. 3

Tap "Install app" (or "Add to Home screen")

Chrome will ask you to confirm — tap Install / Add. The BuildPilot icon lands on your home screen.

  4. 4

Even easier if you see it

If a big orange "Install BuildPilot" button appears below, one tap does all of the above.

  5. 5

If Android shows a "Play Protect" notice

That's a current Google issue with newer Android versions — it flags apps installed from ANY website, not just ours. Tap "More details", then "Install anyway". BuildPilot asks for no special permissions: no SMS, no contacts, no accessibility access.

  6. 6

    Already added it earlier?

Then it's already on your home screen — just open the BuildPilot icon. Chrome won't offer to install it twice.

Do this before you go to a job

  • Your photos stay safe. An installed app keeps them even if you don't open BuildPilot for a week. A browser tab does not — iPhone erases it.
  • It opens with no signal. Basements, metal buildings, out of range — the app still opens and shows today's jobs and your customers' phone numbers.
  • One tap from your home screen, with the BuildPilot icon, like any other app.
